Do So With Thanksgiving...I was reading out a newspaper article on the Fore people of Papua New Guinea. Apparently they used to have this gruesome practice of ritually consuming dead relatives, during what may be called mortuary feasts (ugh!). Cannibalism was prevalent in these islands till the arrival of the Kuru disease.
"Didn't they all convert to Christianity, daddy?"
"Guess so, honey! Isn't that wonderful?"
"Hmmm.." she noted, "I suppose its because their new religion allows them to continue consuming relatives, and be in good standing with God..."
"What???"
"Well, as long as its done with thanksgiving before the meal... Then no food is unclean!"
