The Principle of Reflection

The term 'God Principle' as used in this book does not refer to the notion of the Godhead as a Principle, rather it refers to the all pervading Principle of Reflection that underlies all manifestation.

The Principle of Reflection may be explained this way: Outer reality (in matter) is a reflection of inner reality (of Being). Spirit experiences and observes itself in matter, understands and explores itself from the reflections it makes there. This reflection is fundamental to the core purpose of manifestation, the prime directive that decrees: "Being, Know Thyself!". Indeed, it may be stated that your greatest mystery is verily yourself. Reflect a moment on this, and you will find it true.

If the above is understood, then it follows that we 'see or meet ourselves' continuously in material experiences. Reality throws back at us a picture of what we are, and it also throws back at us all of our actions, without which the picture remains incomplete. The latter is called 'karma' in the eastern religions. This reflecting back is inherently magnified, so that the resulting picture is made truly stark. In this sense, all of man's misfortunes, illnesses and so forth are reflections of both the individual and the collective, made in the pool of matter.

This principle of reflection has an important corollary. It states that literally all spiritual truth and phenomena have reflections and analogues in matter. That is to say, all the truths of all the realms of spirit may be found written all around us. The ancients expressed this using the phrase 'As above, So below'.

The God Principle (book) is an exploration of this principle, a study of spiritual truth reflected in matter.
