Spiritual Evolution
Being involutes from oneness, creating a whole spectrum of fragments ranging from the unconscious to the highly conscious and powerful. Being explores itself through Life, and in the process evolves toward oneness, tracing myriad and hitherto unexplored trajectories on its way back to oneness. Within an evolutionary trajectory, there are reflections of itself - subcycles of involution and evolution.
Variation and selection are fundamental to evolution. Being continually creates variety in its expressions, discovering more of itself. Selection occurs through the working of the Law of Returns (sometimes called the law of retribution), which acts through the forces of chaos and disintegration, as well as through the forces of cohesion.
The trajectory of a fragment of Being may be toward the super-conscious - a conscious merging with progressively higher levels of Being into the ONE. The trajectory may also be toward the unconscious - a loss of identity and integrity, and merging unconsciously into the ONE. The former is the path of cohesion; the latter, of disintegration and dissolution.
Physical evolution reflects spiritual evolution. As Being evolves, so do its expressions, the body and its environment. Or rather, they co-evolve.
