The Earth Connection

A fragment of Being experiencing manifestation on the Earth also becomes a part of the fragment of Being that manifests as the Earth. This intertwining or entanglement of Being is essential for the purpose of earthly experience.

Thus there is a multiple intertwining of Being in any earthly personality. One, with a larger Being (sometimes called the higher self) of which it is an immediate portion, and another, that of the Earth.

Energies from both the higher self and the Earth are available to the earthly personality. Energies of the higher self are available through various energy centers in the personality (and its bodily form). The energies of the Earth are accessible from its depths, rising up through the bodily spine, and has been called kundalini in some circles(1). The energy network of the body taps into these Earth energies, much like a tree tapping into the earth (see chapter 'Tree of Life').

The main function of the Earth energies is to facilitate human experience through sustenance of bodily functions, and in doing so sustain (from the personality side) energy centers or 'chakras' that bridge to the higher self. This in turn strengthens the communion between the personality and the higher self, which helps the personality to recognize and meet its purposes on the Earth.

Thus the energies from the Earth facilitate physical experience, experience of the higher self (which may manifest as extra sensory perception, visions, bliss and various other experiences), and also experience of the Earth Being (which may manifest as a feeling of oneness with the Earth and everything on it).

This connection with Mother Earth is fundamental to all bodily experience. It is also the facilitator of many so-called spiritual experiences. Rarely is its operation directly sensed by individuals, any more than say, the operation of the nervous or circulatory systems. Working directly with this connection is comparable to working directly with other critical bodily systems, wherein there is a real possibility of serious malfunction in the hands of the untrained. The Earth Connection works best when functioning in the context of a healthy physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life style.

One of the easiest ways to harness and direct energy into this system is to touch the base of the palms (which connect with the base energy center) together, and also the tips of the fingers (each of which connects to major energy centers) of the left palm against those of the right, and rest the base of the palms against the heart, completing seven major centers. The posture is accompanied by heart-centric higher feeling. The reader may recognize this as the classic posture used in prayer by many religions.

Note 1: The Sanskrit term 'kundalini' refers to energy situated or latent (lina) in the 'depths of the earth' (kund). The energy network of the body taps into these energies not unlike a tree tapping into the earth, through a 'root chakra' co-located at the base of the spine. See chapter 'Tree of Life' in The God Principle (book) for more detail. Such energies are characterized using the symbol of a serpent (see next article).
