Atheist vs Theist
Diversity is key to evolution, whether physical or spiritual.
The theist has no special status over the atheist, or vice versa. Life offers a level playing field where all possible modes of life are fostered and experienced. Atheistic, theistic and agnostic view points and ways of life are part and parcel of spiritual evolution. Without a multiplicity of modes of expression, life would lose its diversity, its essence and its purposes. All such modes of thought and experience are not only desired, they are even
required in the movement of life.
It is often asked: if spirituality and divinity are realities, why are
they not self-evident in every day life? What is the undeniable and
compelling proof that they exist, given that science has made great
progress and still does not endorse the spirit?
The answer, curiously, is that the situation is exactly as it is meant to be.
The
exploration of Being would be greatly limited without the creation
of diversity; and diversity would be seriously limited if a specific
nature of Being is always revealed. It must often be cloaked or
obfuscated, so that it does not always interfere with
the creative process. This
masking allows a rapid proliferation
of new sorts and modes of life of all kinds.
Life provides a level playing field for all such modalities to
arise.
Man is now at a stage of evolutionary development where he has the requisite intelligence and the freedom of choice to explore what he may, and become what he may. This exploration of his Being is facilitated in all possible directions, including those avenues that may be regarded as 'good', 'evil', 'theistic', 'atheistic' and so on. This necessitates that the reality he perceives be unbiased toward any specific mode of Being, and capable of bringing to fruition whatever he may create, explore or express.
The Law of Returns ensures that consequences are met, facilitating selection and evolution.
In this sense, spirituality, divinity and so on must
remain unproven in the conventional sense for yet a while, so that man
has more choices to create, explore and to experience.
However spiritual experiences and the return to deeper realities will always remain accessible to those individuals who seek.
The God Principle (Book) describes how many atheistic and theistic viewpoints are really
varying expressions of the same underlying truth.
